Bruce Heesterman

Since qualifying as a mechanical engineer in 1985, Bruce has filled several project and general management roles at NZ Post, including GM Operations and Executive Programme Director. He has also had management roles with Transend Worldwide, Airways NZ and Aviation English Services. Bruce joined Aspeq in 2010.

Mike Lynskey

Director Business Development

Mike has an engineering background and cut his teeth as an engineering officer in the RNZAF. He has also worked at Air New Zealand in management, operational and project roles. Mike joined Aspeq after completing his MBA in 1995, and has been involved in project and general management within the Aspeq group. He set up our operations in Australia and led the acquisition of the building industry licensing and finance industry accreditation business.

Ian White

Chief Financial Officer

Ian is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of senior management and finance experience in the IT, engineering, energy and manufacturing sectors. He has also worked for Deloitte and Coopers & Lybrand in a range of accounting and consultancy roles. Ian joined Aspeq in 2010 and is responsible for the group’s finance functions. Prior to gaining his finance degree, he served in the RNZAF for eight years as an aircraft engineer and holds an NZCE engineering qualification.

Duncan Macgregor

General Manager Exams and Customer Services

Duncan joined the Aspeq team in 2011 after 15 years working for New Zealand Post and Transend Worldwide Limited in a wide range of roles including operational management, business analysis and international business development. His time at Aspeq has been focused on expanding Aspeq’s international customer base and he has managed the implementations for a number of customers including Malaysia, Hong Kong, Nepal, Brunei, The Maldives, Mongolia and the United Kingdom. Duncan has developed a wide range of knowledge of all aspects of the business and most recently has been heading up the Aspeq UK office. Duncan returned to New Zealand in October 2020 as the General Manager Exams and Customer Services and is looking forward to working with our customers throughout the world to continue to deliver high-quality examinations and assessments.

David Bailey

Chief Technology Officer

David joined the management team in 2016, bringing over 20 years of ICT experience to the organisation. Starting his career as a Chartered Accountant, he then made the switch to Business Intelligence; amalgamating his IT skills and financial knowledge. He returned to New Zealand after working in the London financial service sector for six years. David is a practitioner of agile development methodology, and he has proven effective in the creation and management of high performing teams.

ADILA BAJEMA, CIPM, PCQI

Manager Quality and Compliance

Adila has been with Aspeq since 1996, in a variety of roles. She has extensive knowledge of company processes and documentation and has delivered training in the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Adila has project managed technology rollouts in Australia for our Australian subsidiary company. As Manager Quality and Compliance, Adila leads a range of portfolios across the Aspeq group, including quality, security and privacy compliance, audits, project and infrastructural support.
Adila is a certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 and ISO 27001. She is a certified practitioner member of CQI (Chartered Quality Institute) and a registered associate auditor of the International Register of Certified Auditors (IRCA).
Adila is also a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) from the Institute of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

Katy Patrick

Culture and Communications Manager

Katy joined the Aspeq team in 2017 and brought with her a background of communications and customer experience roles. She has since worked her way around the organisation, while focusing on professional services and business development, and recently joined the senior leadership team in 2020. Katy is now responsible for overseeing most of the company’s branding and communications, building further on our strong company culture, while also looking after the HR, H & S and other people process’ areas. She is passionate about seeing others grow and helping them to achieve their potential, whilst ensuring that our people thrive and connect well through all parts of the organisation.

Aleesha Waistell

Business Analyst

Aleesha joined Aspeq in 2010 and has an impressive overall knowledge of the company. During her time here she has been a part of the Customer Services, Question Bank/Exam Management, and the ICT teams. Her company-wide experience gained over the years and her natural ability at seeing the big picture clearly lead Aleesha to becoming the first Business Analyst of Aspeq. She has a passion for problem solving and enjoys working closely with customers and team members to ensure customer’s needs are being met. Aleesha joined the wider leadership team in 2016 when she became the Test Team Manager and has continued to provide positive influence throughout the company since, which lead to her joining the senior leadership team in 2020.
